And why is it good for our wellbeing?

So...What Is Art Journalling??

We think of a journal or a diary as somewhere we give 'voice' to our inner most
thoughts and feelings. Often things we wouldn't normally discuss with others.

Artists however use journals to keep a note of drawings, ideas for paintings,
photos etc - basically anything that inspires them - all in one place.

So imagine combining aspects of your personal journal/diary with mindful art techniques - doodle drawing, pointillism (dot painting), collage or even adult colouring - to create beautiful, mindful art journals that are personal and unique, giving you something positive to focus and reflect on.

This approach - using art as a theraputic activity
(rather than an art therapy session) - can work well for those
dealing with anxiety, depression or other stress related conditions.

Welcome to the Art Journalling for Wellbeing Group based in Wokingham, Berkshire.

We are here for anyone who is curious about how art can boost our health and wellbeing.

Our group started back in 2019, after some fun college courses in the Wokingham area got people interested in a more regular get-together.

Then, well, Covid happened and things changed a bit.

We've got a monthly in-person session happening in Wokingham library on the first Saturday of each month

and as 2025 commences we will be adding more sessions on a weekly basis around the borough.

Plus, every Wednesday evening, there's a Zoom class you can jump into from the comfort of your own home.

We are keen to bring more sessions to the local communities so if you think this is something your company,

charity or community group would enjoy, please reach out and we would be happy to discuss your needs.

What facilities are available?
Our monthly Saturday afternoon group meets at Wokingham Library which is

There is ample parking & it's also close to public transport links.
There is also a Costa coffee bar on-site meaning you can
get your caffeine hit at the same time if you wish!

What materials do I need to bring?
Any art materials that you like working with. We do provide basic materials such as
paper & pencils etc but most students prefer to bring their own stash!
