Rachel Freegard
Founder / Director
Rachel is a Wokingham based Arts & Crafts tutor who is super passionate about the positive role that creativity plays in terms of our mental health and wellbeing. This was particularly important during her childhood when she was a child carer for family members suffering from PTSD & depression.
Creating has been a part of her life from a very early age and became a
lifeline in her own mental health journey. In the early 2000s, whilst
recovering from a rough bout of burn out and depression, she was
encouraged by her ceramics tutor to think about passing her skills on to others.
Her teaching journey started soon after and she has been providing
workshops since 2014 for the local Recovery colleges, Adult Education centres and charities, ever since. She is the brainchild behind Create! and is thrilled to have her fellow directors on board to assist in making this new venture a success.
When she's not at home creating - covered in glue and paint, walking in the woods is where she feels happiest.
Francesca Tate-Fernando
Director
Francesca is passionate about all aspects of wellbeing, but is also a
qualified Mental Health First Aider. Her journey started after she was
diagnosed with CPTSD back in 2019 and received treatement through
the Berkshire Traumatic Stress Service.
Volunteering with Create! is a very personal way for her to give back and support others who may have faced similar challenges.
Outside of her corporate career, Francesca also volunteers part time with SAFE, a local charity that rescues horses. Ever the animal lover she has two cats (Greebo and Mochi). Outside of this you can usually find her in the
kitchen baking up a storm, at the gym making up for it, or curled up with a good book.
Adam Green
